So my latest project has been a coffee table for my living room.  Go figure, I can’t find one I like enough to just buy, so I’m designing it and (hopefully) building it.  The form is created from sloping the sides of a simple rectangular box, then cutting the corners at various angles.  The inside material would be a high gloss white, with a walnut veneer on the outside.  Solid walnut is also a possibility, but I kind of like the layering that would be revealed on the edges where the cuts took place.  All the different angles are going to make this tough to build, I imagine.  But hey, what’s worth doing is rarely easily done, right!?
