These stars were designed by John Kostick as an expression of tensegrity – tensional integrity. The structure uses pure linear forms that are composed of individual bronze wire, which are melted together at their ends. Before the other end is melted together, it is intertwined with other linear components, which creates a system of bronze wires which are in constant tension and compression. Very beautiful. Also included in the gallery are some wooden expressions of tetraxis geometry, which is very well explained in the animation at the bottom. All images were borrowed from www.kosticks.com.
