Church in La Laguna
This concrete church in Spain was designed by Fenando Menis of Menis Arquitectos. Really cool building. It looks like Daniel Liebeskind and Tadao Ando had a baby. I’m not real wild about the caged rocks in the sanctuary, but I absolutely love the form, and the raw concrete. However, if it weren’t for the play with light from the sun, the place would likely be very foreboding, which isn’t really a good thing when it comes to churches. That being said, I would definitely say that the mass and scale of the space invoke awe, which you absolutely want in a church. You can learn more about the church from the designer’s website.
